PayPal Digital Wallet
A digital wallet for PayPal in IndiaThe goal was to create an engaging digital wallet for PayPal in India.
Before I got started, I asked few questions like;
- Who are eBay and PayPal?
- What are PayPal's products?
- What are the product goals? Target users?
- What does the PayPal Digital Wallet for the US do and how does it do it?
- Who is the competition? What are they doing and how?
I then went about understanding what a wallet is? What do we carry in our wallets? I carried out a user survey with around 100 participants. It was fascinating to know the things people had in their wallets!

I then went about understanding what a wallet is? What do we carry in our wallets? I carried out a user survey with around 100 participants. It was fascinating to know the things people had in their wallets!

Taking each item, I looked at how we use them. What is it meant for? What does it do? What are we doing with it?

At the end of analysis of each wallet artifact I ended up with an enormous amount of information and ideas which I noted/sketched down.

The next step was the synthesis of all this information and finding relationships between different and seemingly disparate ideas while all the while discussing with key stakeholders to keep the business objective and user needs in focus.

Few concepts emerged and were discussed before zeroing in on one.

I made pen and paper sketches of the interaction and flow of the app and then made wireframes. These wireframes were prototyped and tested on few users and then iterated upon.

An operational flow document and interaction pattern document was prepared to be handed to the engineering teams.

I designed icons and set the visual design direction of the app.
